Case Consultation and Study Group

This group meets via Zoom once per month for 90 minutes (online via Zoom). For a complete list of dates, see below (six meetings total).

First Meeting: Tues, Oct 7, 2025

Meeting Time: 9:30-11:00am PT (12:30-2:00pm ET)

Fee: $1,200 (prorated after start date based on remaining sessions if space remains in the group)

Raise your conflict resolution strategies and skills, form meaningful and long-lasting professional connections, and benefit from the insights generated by an interdisciplinary group of practitioners dedicated to their craft. Whether just starting out or after many years of practice, Mediators and Collaborative professionals face complex legal, emotional, and ethical situations every day.

This group is designed to harness the knowledge and insight of yourself and your colleagues to explore some of the most challenging issues faced by practitioners.

Under the guidance of expert mediator, trainer, and author Forrest “Woody” Mosten and Ewan Malcolm, Scottish Mediator of the year in 2008, participants will bring mediation and Collaborative practice problems or questions—those that arose because of a success or frustration, or it could be something in a case you are currently grappling with.

Using a Reflective Practice model to invite questions from the group, Woody will facilitate a discussion to clarify the problem and help you discover new approaches for dealing with the situation. Woody will also share his years of experience, offering advice and recommendations for solving seemingly intractable practice situations.

As part of this Group, we will feature discussion from new book from Peter Salem and Kelly Olson: Family Dispute Resolution.

Ewan Malcolm

Ewan Malcolm is known throughout the United Kingdom as an award winning mediator who was named as Scottish Mediator of the Year in 2008 and the winner of the Mediation Unsung Hero Award in 2018.

After practicing law for 13 years, Ewan Malcolm was the Director of Scottish Mediation. and currently is the CEO of Relate with offices throughout England.

Ewan holds a Masters in Conflict Resolution and Mediation and has served as Chair of the College of Mediators and was on the Board of the Family Mediation Council. 

Ewan has authored a number of published articles on mediation in business, community disputes and supervised mediators in their family cases on a regular basis.

Mosten Mediation Training is thrilled to have Ewan join Woody Mosten again in facilitating our Case Consultation Group starting in October 2025.
